Sitting in a 13th century tower, many of the ten bells of Lydney date back to the 18th century. The Tenor, cast by Abraham Rudhall in 1700 weighs in at over 13 hundredweight, or approximately two-thirds of a ton. The other bells range in weight from three hundredweight, or 150kg, upwards. The lightest two bells were cast in the 1970s, when the bells were fully overhauled with a modern bell frame and modern fittings.
